In 2010, the U.S. Census Bureau will complete the next count of national, state, and local populations. Hundreds of billions of federal dollars are appropriated to state and local governments based on the population numbers collected, making a complete and accurate count of Montanans critical to our state and local budgets and the programs, services, and infrastructure that federal funding supports. MBPC Director, Tara Veazey, has been asked to join Lieutenant Governor, John Bollinger, as a member of the "Census 2010 Statewide Complete Count Committee" and work with other members across the state to ensure an accurate count in Montana.
MBPC is a nonprofit organization focused on providing credible and timely research and analysis on budget, tax, and economic issues that impact low- and moderate-income Montana families.
